The Portuguese associations Geographers (APG) and Spanish Geographers (AGE) held these days in the Merced campus of the University of Murcia (UMU) Iberian Geography Colloquium 2016.
The colloquium, in the words of its coordinator, Professor Ramon Garcia, secretary of the Department of Geography at the University of Murcia, organizer thereof, aims to become a forum for discussion of the challenges and trends of this discipline in the Iberian Peninsula.
The conference will be structured around the themes "Energy: Territory and Landscape", "Natural Risks (Environmental Vulnerability, Social and Economic)", "Heritage, Tourism and Local Development", "Water Use in the Territory", " cities and Governance "," Smart Spaces and Societies "and" Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing ".
The meeting was inaugurated by Secretary General of the UMU, Santiago Alvarez, and the director general of Universities and Research of the Autonomous Community, Juan Monzó, among others.
