Socialists urge both governments to cease the ongoing conflict for over five years and are coordinated to define the environment of the wheel, the Aqueduct and Alfatego Aljufía and irrigation ditches, important cultural heritage of the municipality of Murcia
Councilman Municipal Socialist Group, Enrique Ayuso, and the regional deputy Emilio Ivars, offered Friday by the member of the PSOE in the Municipal Council of La Ñora, Francisco Gil, a press conference to denounce the lack of protection of BIC environment Noria de La Ñora, which includes the mill wheel, the aqueduct and Alfatego Aljufía and ditches.
"Discrepancies between the city of Murcia and the Autonomous Community are hurting the protection needs of cultural interest of such importance," said Ayuso, who has indicated that the situation of paralysis in the protection of this harsh environment and over five years, "without which neither the Council nor the Community show the interest that our cultural and natural heritage deserves."
The PSOE mayor has also recalled that the Noria de La Ñora was declared of Cultural Interest in 1982 and in 2001, within the land-use planning, the environment is one cataloged with the degree of protection.
"However -HA insured Ayuso- the General Plan did not take into account the existence of the aqueduct or the entire environment and not contemplate the BIC as configurator space, a historical error that still exists."
The Socialist councilor has called on the City of Murcia taking into account the current situation and that in urban planning hereinafter suits the situation of cultural heritage protection that requires the area, giving priority to environmental conservation to urban planning.
"This, of course, we must end the planning to the letter is the official brand of PP and bet once and for all by an urbanism that preserve our natural and cultural values."
For its part, the regional deputy, Emilio Ivars, has reported that the Socialist parliamentary group registered with the Regional Assembly an initiative that the sooner a negotiating table established between the region and the city of Murcia, with the participation organizations in defense of heritage and culture, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, technical and political.
"The purpose of this table should be an end to these more than five and a half years of permanent institutional conflict and the current lack of protection of the environment".
Ivars has criticized for more than five years, local and regional administrations have been unable to settle the conflict and to cooperate and reach agreements, resulting in the failure to protect an environment that should be bounded. "Likewise, the Socialist MP It indicated that the lack of delimitation, not only affects the protection and preservation of an important part of the cultural heritage of the municipality of Murcia, but also to the houses and surrounding land.
The conflict, dating back to 2011, began when the Department of Fine Arts and Cultural Assets intended to define the BIC environment based solely on a visual approach.
This resulted in an administrative dispute initiated by the city of Murcia, since there are areas from which neither the Aqueduct and Noria is observed but should be defined.
Finally, after more than five years, the dispute was resolved last July, partially upholding the appeal of the City of Murcia.
"It is urgent that the table we propose to make it work for the protection convening this natural and cultural environment, according to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, has already suffered a significant decline in recent decades. Municipality and autonomous region must end the anarchy and establish specific limits that preserve our heritage, "concluded Ivars.
