Professor of the School of Psychology at the University of Murcia (UMU) Enrique Javier Garces of Fayos and psychologist and dietician Jose Luis Lopez Morales published the book "Guide to overcoming appetite."
The book, the result of a multidisciplinary research that integrates psychology and nutrition, points to the emotional dimension of the person as a key factor in the failure of many diets.
The authors warn in the guide behind a weight problem there are usually many difficulties, so that underscore the importance of personal self-knowledge when overcoming appetite.
The manual offers a weight loss program or control food intake by incorporating healthy habits.
"We operate in the perception of appetite, we address the difficulties in maintaining a diet, we explain the origin of eating behavior to eliminate the desire to eat and also give dietary guidelines," says Lopez Morales, a doctoral student at the University of Murcia, noting that also it includes daily activities that facilitate self-knowledge and problem solving.
The book, published by the publishing bilbaína Desclée De Brouwer, tells the true story of a woman who can not lose weight, showing their internal battle: how to learn to overcome their fears and confront the obstacles to change eating behavior.
The guide "is designed for those who can not control the desire to eat or have tried many methods without long-term success, and also for those who want to empathize with the obese population and understand the difficulty felt by these people, which prevents them stop eating, "concludes the author.
