Conchita Ruiz has also given a special mention to Earth Fecundis ETT for their interest in the design and development of an Equality Plan.
Estrella de Levante has also been recognized with this distinction.
Recycles Traperos received this morning the prize Premio.
Equality Murcia in 2016 awarded by the City of Murcia to recognize companies that have developed the municipality and implemented measures to promote employment equity or equality plan.
The councilman of Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, has presented this award at the opening of Gender Equality Day in business, organized by the city, with the collaboration of the Spanish Federation of Women Directors, Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs (FEDEPE ), the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality and CROEM.
The event has also intervened the Director General of Women, Alicia Barquero.
Traperos Recycles is a small company dedicated to insert waste management (paper, glass and bulky, among others).
With a staff 21 people, last year made 16 temporary contracts, of which 43% went to women.
It is an integration company, and therefore has the purpose of social and labor integration or people at risk of social exclusion.
Beyond hiring women victims of gender violence and / or at risk of exclusion, the award has highlighted the non-sexist use of language and the implementation of measures and social actions carried out to promote the reconciliation of work and family life in a predominantly masculine company, which has a positive impact on gender equality to promote family responsibility among men.
The jury of the 2016 edition also unanimously decided to recognize Estrella de Levante and Earth Fecundis ETT, for their efforts in the design and development of an Equality Plan -even when companies are not required to it- by creating equality commissions for monitoring and evaluation of equality plans and the implementation of measures that facilitate the development of the principle of gender equality and work, family and personal reconciliation.
Equality in business
The award and special mentions took place at the beginning of the day, "with which we intend to publicize in business benefits derived from developing policies aimed at gender equality and the reconciliation of working life and family of its workforce, "said Conchita Ruiz.
The councilman of Social Rights has stressed the importance of small and medium enterprises "are socially aware and develop actions from the principle of gender equality in the organization and management of human resources."
Also, Ruiz has encouraged attendees to design "innovative policies of reconciliation and promote the hiring of women in vulnerable situations and social difficulties".
That is the line that, according to the mayor, "should follow the companies that wish to change their production model toward greater social commitment."
