The Government of Spain has awarded this distinction, the category of Encomienda with Plate, coinciding with the twentieth anniversary of the founding of the UCAM, through the merits that this university has been reported to the company in the field of teaching, research , culture and sport
The Government of Spain has decided the entry of José Luis Mendoza, president of the UCAM, in the Civil Order Alfonso X the Wise, with the rank of Encomienda with Plate, in assessing the merits therein concur, as established by Royal Decree 954 / 1988 governing such concessions, maximum in the field of education in Spain.
The decision, by decree, has been published on Monday 24 October in the Official Gazette, after first informing the Council of Ministers by the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Inigo Mendez de Vigo.
The Ministry has arranged cited income Jose Luis Mendoza coinciding with the twentieth anniversary of the founding of the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM), which he chairs, after assessing the merits has been reported to the company in the field of teaching, research, culture and sport.
In addition to this recognition, José Luis Mendoza has also been awarded the Gold Badge of the Catholic Confederation of Parents (CONCAPA), the Gold Badge of the Spanish Confederation of Centres of Private Education (CECE), the Order of St. Gregorio Magno granted by Pope Benedict XVI (2007), and the "Giuseppe Sciacca" International Award of the Pontifical Urban University in Rome;
as well as by the Higher Sports Council and the Spanish Olympic Committee.
