The City Council has deployed this morning an operation of various services, coordinated by the Department of Sports and Health, to end the focus of unhealthiness caused by the old Nursery of Fame, located at New Gate, which remains without activity since the end in the early 90s.
The operation, conducted with judicial authorization, has started at 8:30 am, starting with the eviction of seven persons occupying the property illegally.
Subsequently, they have begun pruning work several examples of palm trees, removal of scrub and clean facilities.
Alderman area Felipe Coello, who witnessed the start of work, explained that all accumulated waste will be removed tomorrow, giving way to zoonosis services to carry out the work of pest control and disinfestation facilities.
Finally, we will proceed to board up the entrances to the interior of the building and install an enclosure on the perimeter.
The device has been launched as a result of the failure of the property of the decree signed by the Councillor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, on August 2, urging the owners to solve the problems of sanitation and hygiene generated.
Within a reasonable time and no response or cooperation of those responsible, the City Council appealed to the administrative litigation court No. 4 in Murcia, which issued the authorization for the execution of the order subsidiary.
The owners will face the costs incurred by the cleaning operation, regardless of initiated disciplinary proceedings, the penalty may amount to 15,000 euros.
To carry out will involve local police, municipal health services and planning discipline, cleaning companies, landscaping and masonry, plus staff zoonosis to perform disinfestation treatments or rat control.
Almost abandoned 20 years
The premises of the former nursery of Fame have been repeated cause for complaint and alarm by neighbors as a result of neglect and dirt that has since stopped having use in the late 90s.
The property has been the subject of various files over recent years for the same reasons.
This is the third time that the city is forced to intervene to clean this building, whose poor condition posed a danger to public health.
