The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, accompanied by other members of the Municipal Corporation, presided over the ceremony of unveiling of the plaque that names a square in San Antolin dedicated to Idelfonso Mendez.
Thus tribute to who was resident of the neighborhood, director and professor of public school San Andrés for several decades and who worked selflessly in various organizations and cultural and social movements surrenders.

The Plaza Maestro Ildefonso Garcia Mendez is located between the street Burial of the Sardine and the Great Fish Street.
