Councilman Municipal Socialist Group, Juan Vicente Larrosa, Tuesday demanded convening the Local Security Council, which last met in February and should have already held its second meeting of the year.
"The Local Security Council is an imperative for good organization and coordination of the bodies and security forces that ensure the same in our municipality organ. With a lack of effective important local police in Murcia, which does not seem to go away to solve soon, it is necessary to meet deadlines and gather the Council promptly, "said Larrosa.
Already in February, the Socialist Group had to reclaim the Council meeting before the wave of robberies and crimes in villages.
"Given the delay in convening and due to vandalism and theft acts that were suffering our parishes, we had to demand in February speed in the meeting of the Local Security Council. This is convened after our demand, but eight months later, we are forced to have to claim again that such an important body meets in a timely manner, as is required, "he stated the mayor of the PSOE.
Larrosa recalled that, according to the Official Gazette, the Local Security Council should hold meetings every six months.
"With a police force dwindles without any new additions, with a municipality with such a wide and very garden area, with numerous events that take place in Murcia, level of traffic, etc. geographical layout, we can not understand why the Department of Security delayed the convening of the Council, particularly after the lack of police that the incorporation has become necessary in the summer of troops outside our municipality, indicating the need to address the problem and enhance better coordination between our local police, the National police and Civil Guard. "
The socialist council has sent a letter to the Department responsible asking that the meeting of the Local Security Council to take place before the end of October.
