The City of Murcia, through the Department of Planning, Environment and Huerta, has completed the rehabilitation projects Molino del Amor, La Albatalía, and Batan environment in Zarandona, part of the actions of the Plan Action of the Huerta de Murcia and its historical heritage, so that from now on you can start the procedures for recruitment.
Both actions have an initial budget of 260,150 euros.
Of this amount, 169,400 euros corresponds to the recovery work at the Molino del Batan, which has a deadline of 6 months and 90,750 euros is earmarked for the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Mill of Love, which will run on a rough time 12 months.
The Plan of Action of the Huerta de Murcia, which both projects fall, includes a list of measures to revitalize, maintain and care for the environment, which provides the town "an undeniable heritage value, cultural, environmental and landscape" said Antonio Navarro.

From the Molino del Amor Paseo del Malecón
El Molino del Amor, municipally owned, is located at the end of Paseo del Malecón, next to the Carretera de La Ñora, ranging between Arboleja and the Albatalía on the Acequia Mayor of Aljufía, and is a building cataloged , dating from the eighteenth century although, as in other cases in the Huerta, probably was built on a former medieval mill.
It is a one-story building, about 160 sqm, quite shabby, but still retains its main structure and can be retrieved for contemplation and explanation.
The project includes the complete renovation of the building and adaptation of open channels of irrigation channels, integrating them into a landscaped open space, and equipment of approximately 3700 m², which is also the subject of the project and will include orchards and facilities related to the mill your enjoyment by neighbors and citizens who travel prolong the Malecón walk to this destination.
The recovery of this mill has a great symbolic value for its potential to be integrated into an urban space of the first order, as is the Paseo del Malecón, declared of cultural interest and on which the council is drafting a Special Protection Plan.

The other great performance is the adequacy of the Molino Batan setting in the Old Way of Monteagudo.
Located on the North Mayor Azarbe in Zarandona, it is currently integrated into the urban fabric.
The plot where it is located is a green area of ​​4,200 square meters of municipal property, the landscaping will be executed under the owners of the area, but designed in this comprehensive recovery project with a concept of orchard-garden.
The intervention orchard maintain the character of the area, avoiding the performance of a conventional garden and preserving existing or implanting own a garden that becomes a testimony of origin for contemplation and public use species plantations.
The project includes the recovery and integration of an Islamic tower of the eleventh century, declared of Cultural Interest, and a bridge eighteenth century, while efforts to conclude the incorporation of the mill to the municipal heritage.
In both cases, recovery and landscape integration will take place maintaining the woodland and own environments Huerta, adapting them and making them compatible for public use, creating spaces that retain their environmental values ​​and to exemplify a new way to treat the green areas considerate and respectful of its origin, sustainable and pedagogical.
