Councilwoman Municipal Socialist Group, Begoña García Retegui, has demanded the government team Ballesta complying with the agreement of the municipal plenary session last January, approved unanimously to recognize the work that the Quakers developed in Murcia in favor of children during the Civil War.
In a letter to the Councillor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesus Pacheco, the socialist mayor recalled the acquired nine months ago commitment to the organization, by the City of Murcia, an act of recognition of the work developed by the Company religious of Friends (Quakers).
Also, there remains also the placement of a plaque in the municipal building New Gate Street, in memory of the service provided at the Hospital of children who stood there.
This delay in organizing the tribute to the Quakers is especially serious because, as explained by the mayor of the PSOE, "two of the volunteers who helped in the hospital and can still bear witness to the work of the Quakers, José Brown and Elisa Smilg are elderly people who deserve the opportunity to be present at the tribute, so you can not continue to delay the organization of the event ".
