The Department of Administration Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation inform through the municipal website www.murcia.es of all plant protection treatments applied in the green areas of the municipality.
According to Councilman Jose Guillen, "this initiative we are committed to ensure full transparency by making public the list of products authorized all of them by the Ministry of Environment, which apply in urban gardening as well as the doses of each from them".
Thus, any citizen who wishes may from the web to know which products are applied in the green spaces around you.
The mayor explained that "also those who have some kind of pathology chemical sensitivity can inform us to offer some alternative service.
It is ultimately a service to make easier the daily life of Murcia and promote transparency of the City ".
The treatments are applied in a very low dose that involves no risk to the citizen and allow different treatments as an insecticide for aphids, natural oils to protect roses from attacks by fungi and other pests or Bacillusthurigiensis to fight pine processionary .
Guillen notes that this is a task that only performs a team of qualified professionals.
