The Department of Traffic and Public Safety, through the Office of the Bicycle has extended the contract network of bicycle parking that allow the installation of 850 units in districts and in addition to the 396 placed in recent months in the town.
These elements will be installed not only in areas lacking such infrastructure but also in locations where it is necessary to expand existing because they have a great demand from users or who have experienced a greater presence of cyclists in recent months.
These elements can be unlocked bicycle at different points (front wheel, frame, seat and rear wheel) being the safest.
They consist of a bar galvanized steel, stainless steel or aluminum, inverted U-shaped and fixed to the ground.
A bicycle parking allowed on either side of the bar, so in one bicycle parking can be parked two bicycles.
Councilwoman Lola Sanchez explained that "from the Municipal Office of the Bicycle want to contribute to that cycling improves the quality of life of all Murcia, building together a healthier city to live in. In this way municipal technicians work in planning, coordination, implementation and maintenance of cycling infrastructure. "
