With the recent publication of the specification contract for the realization of Cultural Heritage Inventory del Campo and Huerta de Murcia, Murcia Huerta Live the association wants to express his disappointment with the Municipal Government of the City of Murcia.

From this partnership we believe that both the budget, with a maximum of 72,000 euros, as the implementation period of a maximum of 5 months are insufficient to deal with quality criteria the vast amount of cultural objects exist in nearly 900 km2 of the municipality.

The technical requirements of the tender procurement require an exhaustive cataloging of all elements can be protected, whether archaeological, historical, ethnographic, folkloric or landscape character, and distinguish nearly fifty natural building typologies, engineering or such as dovecotes, bridges , pipes, sundials, chapels, trees or groves or unique geological features, among many others.

In addition, each element required for a chip inventory with twenty items, among which are the realization of floor plans, diagnosis and conservation measures or possibilities of valorization.

As an association engaged in the defense and recovery of cultural heritage we have to express our founded concerns about the implementation of this project and the results of it, fearing that it could become another lost opportunity, which should result based on the document for control, management and conservation of cultural heritage by the local authority, and regional extension.

We believe that the future inventory should not be a mere upgrade of existing, refurbished in the face of public opinion, but also work that contemplates the many elements uncatalogued existing across and throughout the municipality.

For this purpose a detailed prospecting work and study each case, on which to assess foot field which items to include or not in inventory, this being a methodology that requires a longer period than prescribed, even more so given it requires great area of ​​the municipality and the intricacy of some areas such as orchard and forest.

We wish therefore an inventory with the greatest possible rigor, that fits the territorial reality is made, palie oblivion and abuse of the heritage of previous decades and meet the growing social demand around the preservation and dissemination of cultural heritage of the municipality Murcia, also helping to improve the social perception people have about the insignificance that our municipal authorities attach to this issue.

We therefore request the municipal government to reconsider the proposed conditions for the development of the catalog, expanding both the budget and term of project implementation.
