The area of La Alberca and nearest the edge of the Regional Park El Valle-Carrascoy Verdolay has many outstanding houses with large gardens and large trees.
Do not forget that, traditionally, this hamlet has been a summer resort and rest of the Murcian bourgeoisie, because we speak of listed homes, houses or mansions, to which the law requires to keep.
In recent years, many homeowners have opted out of the houses, drop them and speculate with the land to build houses.
One of the homes that are in a situation of neglect is on a large plot of La Paz street, at the intersection with the Olivos Street, which has seen this week a pine large on the sidewalk and the road was clear, fortunately without serious consequences.
However, it caused the downing of a road sign, occupation of public space and sidewalks, with the risk for pedestrians and vehicles passing through those streets.
In situations such as occurred days ago, which unfortunately are often produced, the Socialist Group considers that the City of Murcia is obliged to require owners to keep in good plots and houses.
Municipal officials Urban Quality and Public Roads, as well as those of Culture, should ensure proper maintenance of these cataloged homes, and in the case of falling trees or walls, claiming the owners expenses incurred by deteriorating traffic signals, cleaning or removal of branches and trunks.
In the aforementioned case of the street La Paz, this weekend was still no response traffic signal or part of the sidewalk clear.
For the councilor Begoña García Retegui, "it is essential to quantify and evaluate the number of houses that can be found in this situation, not only in La Alberca, but in others the municipality of Murcia, in order to develop a specific plan for preservation and maintenance, preventing the consolidated CEASE landscape of these emblematic areas of the capital of the region.
