Councilwoman Let's change Murcia, Margarita Guerrero, asked in plenary next Thursday repair and conditioning of the sources of public gardens and parks that are damaged and the installation of new, including animal drinking troughs, in the spaces where none there.
Guerrero recalled that the United Nations (UN) in 2010 recognized access to clean drinking water and sanitation as a universal right and therefore the government "should ensure compliance."
However, in the case of Murcia, a municipality that is characterized by high temperatures in the summer months, "there are squares, gardens and green spaces where there are no sources of drinking water," so it is necessary replacement of damaged and installing new through equitable distribution between neighborhoods and districts.
These new sources may include, as they have done other municipalities such as Malaga or Madrid, integrated animal drinkers.
