Councilwoman Let's change Murcia Margarita Guerrero has invited today to the mayor, José Ballesta, to know the "reality" of the Municipal Center for Zoonosis Control, which "is not what is counted from the government team" but "tell-tale the numbers".
Guerrero recalled in this regard that the alderman has forgotten that in that center more than 1,500 animals are killed each year, which "is not cause for celebration."
Regarding the City Council campaign to prevent hiding of dogs, the mayor has complained that the councilor who chairs the Committee on Animal Welfare, Felipe Coello, has not taken into consideration the recommendations of the members of that body, composed of groups municipal, animal welfare and the College of Veterinary Surgeons.
"It's a lack of respect that the local government acting alone, without taking into account the plurality of voices present in the Commission" has held Guerrero, who would have liked him to collect in that document the sanctioning regime of the ordinance as a way to sensitize the public.
In his view, the campaign must serve to raise awareness of the obligations of holders of animals and "not so much to raise."
