The Department of Social Rights who leads Conchita Ruiz Caballero, launched in July, with the cooperation of social organizations such as Caritas, Abraham Project and Columbares, 44 summer schools for 1,900 children from the municipality, 19 of them with dining service, in order to meet the basic food needs some minor municipality.
The total budget allocated by the city of Murcia for dining this summer was 77,000 euros.
Ruiz today visited some of these summer schools in which children perform all kinds of leisure activities, workshops, public swimming baths in the town, visits to places of interest, beach trips, etc.
They are participating 24 volunteers.
This summer, in addition, families of children who have not attended summer schools with dining area, a proposal for Social Services, has been granted for food aid in the months of July and August.
"In total, 262 minors belonging to 128 families will benefit from this extra support," added the councilor.
Also in summer schools they are participating seven children with disabilities, fully integrated into the activities carried out, workshops, games, swimming pools and excursions, among others as well as 5 under refugee families who have recently arrived in the city .
Among the activities planned for this summer by the Department, have hired 119 camp spaces for children proposed by social service centers, the budget amounts to 24,242 euros.
