The Governing Board approved at its last meeting the tendering of the works adequacy of the left bank of the River Segura speck that allow enable a bike lane and a pedestrian.
In this performance, which is part of the project 'Murcia River', 333,000 euros will be invested and the execution time of the works will be four months.
Thanks to the adequacy of this stretch of 2 kilometers, between the Malecón and Fica a cyclable 26.5 kilometers route linking the sections already run between El Malecon and La Contraparada, and between Victor Villegas Auditorium and will be created Beniel .
The bike path, which will be located in the interior of the butte, occupy an area of ​​2.5 meters wide, like the pedestrian zone, being established two distinct tracks.

The project also includes the rehabilitation and refurbishment of six pedestrian stairs giving access to the river, proceeding to repair the damaged steps and cleaning and sanitizing the surface.
The City Council thus begins the construction of 20 kilometers of continuous bike lanes that are part of an ambitious plan presented last March.
Thanks to this performance, users bicycle sports purposes will have a safe track on which to make long, comfortable without the pressure of traffic routes.
