Councillor for Public Works, Roque Ortiz, presided this morning a new meeting, which was attended by Councilwoman Lola Sanchez, Juan Vicente Larrosa, Municipal, Mario Gomez, Socialist Group Citizens, Nacho Tornel, of Let's change Murcia, and Angels Moreno, now Murcia, which is a step towards the creation of the Bureau of Transportation.
Thanks to the agreement between the representatives of all local political groups, except now Murcia, has proposed the implementation of the Bureau of Transport and processing at the municipal Parliament next July 28.
The agreement will be publicly exposed for two months for residents and groups can make suggestions.
However, it has also agreed to begin and to study certain issues of particular interest because of their impact they require greater urgency as the revision of Murcia lines to districts and social bonds.
The Bureau of Transportation born as organ involvement in which bodies, organizations and most representative agents in the transport of the city of Murcia, raise the issues of mobility and discuss and promote initiatives to encourage the use of sustainable public transport .
Thus, this table will be responsible for determining the principles, strategic guidelines and objectives of urban transport in the municipality of Murcia, integrating policies for sustainable public transport in spatial planning and raising awareness among citizens to consider their use as a social good .
The Bureau shall be composed of one representative from each of the municipal groups represented in the Municipal Council, the director general of Transport of the Autonomous Community, representatives of Transport of Murcia, Murcia tram and Lat, and the Sector Board of Taxi , the Federation of Neighborhood Associations, the Federation of Commerce, the association most representative consumers in the municipality, the Spanish Committee of Representatives of persons with disabilities, the Municipal Observatory of the Bicycle and councils of concessionaires public transport.
Councilman Roque Ortiz recalled that this body joins the forthcoming establishment of a Monitoring Committee of Public Transport and is part of a collaboration agreement between the City Council and the Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure which aims to improve the public passenger transport in the municipality of Murcia.
