Murcia City Council approves a budget of 300,000 euros for 2016 call for cooperation projects and 50,000 euros awareness projects and have agreed this morning the members of the Municipal Council for Cooperation and Solidarity.
These projects will be implemented from 2017.
The 19 members of the Council, which depends on the Department of Youth and Development Cooperation, who heads Rebeca Perez and who meet twice a year, should know the projects presented and the basis of calls for subsidies, which are made annually in addition to advising the City Council in terms of collaboration and solidarity.
This year, they have met twice, in addition to the usual two, with extraordinary and urgent nature to study proposals for humanitarian aid to Ecuador, after the events, which agreed to allocate 20,000 euros to mitigate damage in the affected area by the earthquake.
During the meeting, it was agreed to approve the conclusion of a conference during next September with the participation of NGOs for the development of cooperation projects.
In addition, lines have been delineated to establish new activities to mark the Cooperation Day, celebrated on 8 September.
Also, they will appoint 6 new NGOs that will be integrated into the Municipal Council for Cooperation and Solidarity, as the participation of women is rotating and annual basis.
To do so will be called to all NGOs that are usually working with the city of Murcia on Development Cooperation.
