The University of Murcia (UMU) today opened the Summer Science Campus, an initiative to students of 4th of ESO and 1 Bachelor nationwide know firsthand the research carried out in this institution.

The Summer Campus of the UMU, with the participation of 120 students in four shifts a week-long program consist of 4 scientific approach Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics and Forensic Sciences.

Among the sports and leisure activities scheduled include the visit to museums, film forums, musical entertainment, physical chemistry and recreation, lectures and meetings with disseminators.

The opening ceremony was held on the campus of Espinardo with the presence of the vice-chancellors Coordination and internationalization, Bernardo Cascales, and Research, Juan Antonio Garcia.

The program is an initiative of the FECYT (under the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness) and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, and has the support of "la Caixa" Welfare Projects.
