Ecologists in Action has asked the Planning Department of the City of Murcia the dismantling of a telecommunications antenna located in the Carril Los Manolos, 4 hamlet of Murcia Zarandona, for violating the Municipal Ordinance Regulating the Installation and Operation of radio infrastructure the municipality, and failing urban legality.
This antenna already has a part of violation of Town Planning Administrative Service (No. 169/169) which states that no authorization certificate to the location of this telecommunications infrastructure.
The environmental organization says that this antenna, lacking permission, responsible or a qualification statement, you must apply Articles 27 and 28 of the aforementioned Ordinance, characterizing the infringement as very serious with a fine of 30 to 50% of the value installation (art. 28, 1.1 and 2.3) and should restore the previous environmental planning law and the dismantling of the antenna and telecommunications cabinet (Art.27 a and B.2).
Ecologists in Action remembers that in recent years has been denouncing the growing and disorderly, uncontrolled and chaotic way, all kinds of telecommunications infrastructure proliferation, thus increasing electromagnetic pollution in a meaningful way, ie, has increased significantly public exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic fields and pulsed microwaves from a regular residential and steadily.
This significant increase in electromagnetic pollution is produced by the City of Murcia has not established control mechanisms and management necessary against the mentioned process chaotic and almost exponential proliferation these communication infrastructures.
For Ecologists in Action it is necessary that both the regional government and municipalities develop control and management of the implementation of these telecommunication infrastructures to ensure an orderly deployment and involving a drastic reduction of electromagnetic pollution.
In this sense, the organization demand the consistory a Comprehensive Plan of Inspection and Control of telecommunications infrastructure and the development of a radio map to update the degree of immission of radio radiation of these telecommunications infrastructure.
Finally, Ecologists in Action, together with the organizations that make up the Platform Against Pollution electromagnetically Murcia, reiterated its rejection of the recent Decree-Law No 2/2016 of 20 April, of urgent measures for the revival of the business and employment drawn up by the regional government, since it means, in practice, deregulation and reducing guarantees of environmental procedures, which also reduces the control mechanisms by the municipalities before the installation and emissions infrastructure and radio communication devices.
