Councilman Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesus Pacheco, this morning attended the presentation of the tenth National Lottery dedicated to the Virgen de la Arrixaca, to commemorate the 380 anniversary of the creation of the Brotherhood and the 750th anniversary of the Council of the city.
The tenth next Saturday June 18 shows the image of the old patron saint of Murcia, the twelfth century, the Brotherhood was following a request by the Augustinian friars of San Ginés de la Jara that made landfall in Murcia, frightened by the insecurity that existed in the Campo de Cartagena.
Currently they make up the brotherhood more than 220 people.
Alfonso X venerated image of the Virgin of the Arrixaca and made patroness of the Kingdom of Murcia.
Councilman Jesus Pacheco thanked Lotteries State to "take the name of the Virgin of Arrixaca and therefore from Murcia to every corner of our country" while highlighted the "great work done the Brotherhood".
