Councilman Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesus Pacheco, met with the director of Salzillo Museum, Maria Teresa Marin, in order to establish the basis of a cooperation agreement to be signed between the two entities in order to regularize the operation of the museum and the Council's commitment to this art center.
In this way, and after several meetings between the mayor and the director of the museum, the Department will collaborate in building maintenance and running costs (cleaning, electricity ...) while establish an annual grant to help to optimize museum management.
Councilman Jesus Pacheco explained that "the city is part of the Board of Salzillo Museum, which is a pride for our city as it is the second most visited museum in the Region of Murcia, with more than 65,000 visitors a year. Therefore, we have been working on this agreement whose objective is the maintenance of its facilities and promoting their heritage. "
For its part, the Salzillo Museum will become part of the program 'The city also teaches' through which schoolchildren in the municipality of Murcia will have free access to facilities and discover and learn about the work of the Murcian sculptor.
