Councilman Murcia Nacho Tornel Let's change proposed today in the Bureau of Transportation policies are clarified lines in this area in order to realize a model of efficient and responsible mobility that meets the needs of citizens in the municipality.
To Tornel, those lines must go through to understand mobility as "a much broader concept" and that goes beyond transportation.
This, in his view, requires a review of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) as it was based on 2009 data and this government team has not yet decided whether it supports the principles included in that plan.
Proof of this has indicated that the PMUS establishes the transport network to Murcia and districts based on the development of the tram, a means of communication by which the local government has not opted as the backbone of the model.
In addition, the council has asked the officers to avoid limiting the role of it to be a mere suggestion box in which each group participates serving some individual criteria.
