The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Thomas Violante, visited today the center of children in care by the Community which manages the Foundation Arcos del Castillo in the hamlet of Murcia Santa Cruz.

In the center live 25 children, aged 7 to 17, who are under protective custody or guardianship measure, to be removed that power to their families in situations of abandonment, neglect or other indicator of helplessness.

Guardianship Community to a total of 232 children in protection centers, own or contracted.

This year the regional government allocated 8.6 million euros to programs of placement of children in care, which is expected to involve about 1,271 children in care.
