500 Barrio Los Almendros enjoy toy library, summer school and other cultural activities (20/05/2016)

The City Council allocated 151,000 euros for the development of various social projects.

The grants are aimed to finance joint actions with the Association Hope Phone Promotion Association Sociocultural Los Almendros, Manuel Maria Vicuña Foundation, FSG, Habito Association of Murcia and Food Bank Association

Sociocultural Promotion Association Los Almendros has an amount of 25,000 euros to develop activities aimed at children, adolescents and other sectors at risk of social exclusion in the neighborhood of Los Almendros, La Alberca, of which 495 people will benefit programs.

The projects to be carried out are toy library, activities for children, cultural and woman, summer schools, excursions, and volunteerism, among other week.

This grant is within the total amount of 151,000 euros that the Governing Board today approved a proposal from the Department of Social Rights, he headed Conchita Ruiz Caballero for different entities, namely, the Association Hope Phone Promotion Association sociocultural Los Almendros, Manuel Maria Vicuña Foundation, FSG, Habito Association of Murcia and Food Bank Association.

Thus, the project 'program and promoting volunteerism' Association Telephone of Hope, an amount of 6,000 euros, has among its preferred purposes "provide free, anonymous and specialized way, a permanent service for emergency aid for phone and personally to many people, families or groups requested in conflict.

Specific actions scheduled for 2016 aimed at 300 people approximately are: Volunteer Training: "Agent Program Help", 2 courses Self-knowledge, 2 intensive courses Personal Growth, 2 seminars Relationship Help, 1 training Course group Coordinators and 1 Academic continuing education Volunteer, "Motivation and Responsibility of Volunteering".

On the other hand, Manuel Maria Vicuña Foundation will allocate the amount of 12,000 euros for the development of listening center, reception and accommodation of immigrant women, in order to meet their needs and provide them with the necessary resources for their full social integration.

In addition, FSG will receive a subsidy of 73,000 euros to put various programs for the promotion and integration of Roma, one of the sectors of the population with higher rates of social exclusion and the largest ethnic minority in progress.

Among its objectives it is to promote the educational standards of Roma students to achieve higher rates of academic success and promote continuity in media studies and / or higher and vocational training and access to employment.

Also, the Association of Murcia Habito receive an aid of 15,000 euros to carry out the intervention program for accompaniment, monitoring and incorporation into standardized situations of families in shantytowns housing.

The action includes actions aimed at tracking families have already been relocated in order to ensure the continuity of the process of social inclusion, preventing social exclusion, fostering an essential resource of this process such as access to housing and work for proper social integration of victims.

Recipients will be 7 families rehoused and monitoring 30 others living in shanties or substandard housing.

Finally, the Board has agreed to contribute 20,000 euros to the Bank Food Association to develop the project 'Help Help III', whose purpose is to recover food surpluses of society and redistributing them to those in need, avoiding any waste or misuse.

Participation in the project is included in campaigns collection and sorting of food;

visits to charities and organizations sharing, training and awareness activities in schools.

The project beneficiaries are 24,000 people and 97 entities of the municipality of Murcia.
