The new President of RECI was awarded to Nuria Marin, Mayor of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, who replaced in office the mayor of Santander, Inigo de la Serna;
the Vice President in Cuca Gamarra, Mayor of Logroño and the second Vice Pedro del Cura, Mayor of Rivas Vaciamadrid.
Jose Guillen highlighted the excellent work done by the outgoing president, who thus gives the baton to the Mayor of L'Hospitalet.
Inigo de la Serna in addition to being one of the founders of the RECI in 2012, the network has succeeded in raising the peak that is, as an example of leadership networks internationally.
The Plenary Assembly thanked all the people who have managed to maintain steady growth in a network that has nothing to do with each other and that has proven to perform an enormously valuable work for cities that compose it.
The Assembly also reviewed the milestones achieved in recent years, where Murcia, through ALEM, the Local Agency for Energy and Climate Change, has led the Energy Working Group for 4 years for Spain.
Malaga now and work with the new bases of the Guidelines Monitoring Building and lighting respectively, based on creating a homogenization in cities.
Murcia focuses on Buildings and Public Lighting Malaga set guidelines for correct monitoring of checks on full and detailed energy consumption both street lighting and buildings.
The cities of RECI share the will to follow a strategic plan with specific actions to promote innovation and the use of new technologies to build smart cities, and are willing to put their resources and experience in this area available to the rest of the members of the Network.
Councilman Jose Guillen explained that "thanks to meetings like today we know the current situation, share experiences and keep working on turning Murcia into a Smart City".
"We want the new technologies are to serve the public giving better service, improving the quality of life of Murcia, facilitating their relationship with management and may take steps comfortably at home," he pointed Guillen.
The Spanish Network of Smart Cities (www.redciudadesinteligentes.es) was incorporated in June 2012 with the aim of exchanging experiences and work together to develop a model of sustainable management and improve the quality of life of citizens, focusing on aspects such as energy saving, sustainable mobility, eGovernment, attention to people or security.
It currently consists of 60 cities: La Coruna, Albacete, Alcala de Henares, Alcobendas, Alcorcón, Alicante, Almeria, Alzira, Aranjuez, Arganda del Rey, Avila, Badajoz, Barcelona, ​​Burgos, Cáceres, Castellón, Ciudad Real, Cordoba, Guadalajara , Elche, Fuengirola, Getafe, Gijon, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Huelva, Las Palmas, Logroño, Lugo, Huesca, Madrid, Majadahonda, Malaga, Marbella, Merida, Molina de Segura, Mostoles, Motril, Murcia, Oviedo , Palencia, Palma de Mallorca, Pamplona, ​​Paterna, Ponferrada, Pozuelo de Alarcon, Rivas Vaciamadrid, Sabadell, Salamanca, Sant Cugat, Santander, Santiago de Compostela, Segovia, Seville, Tarragona, Torrejon de Ardoz, Torrent, Valencia, Valladolid, Vitoria -Gasteiz and Zaragoza.
