The Department of Public Works and the concessionaire Ferrovial Servicios have started this week a plan for replacement and installation of new bins in the historic center of Murcia.
In a first phase, this action will affect the busy streets of Tatters and Silverware and later be extended to other routes to be determined.
Thus, it will replace the model of bin 30 liters of perforated sheet for a new stronger and larger capacity model with room for 120 liters.

The mayor has started today to send a letter to shops, restaurants and bars and offices to ask for their collaboration as "too often seen in our streets, entrances of office buildings, public facilities, bars, restaurants, public spaces and other points that are carpeted with a huge amount of cigarette butts giving an image of uncleanliness to ourselves and to the increasing number of visitors who come to know ".
