The University of Murcia (UMU) today held a ceremony commemorating the 100 years since the birth of the studies of Philosophy and Letters in this educational institution.
In the course of it, it has opened the exhibition "Artists Murcia in the Faculty of Arts", which will remain until next May 27 in the ES / UM Space Merced campus, in the auditorium.
The exhibition, curated by Professor Abraham Esteve, shows the "relationship between the Faculty of Arts and Murcia society", as noted by the Deputy Dean Alicia Morales center.
During the ceremony, the dean of the Faculty, Pascual Cantos, has made a tour of the origins and trajectory of the center, which currently has 3,713 students divided into eight eight masters degrees.
In commemoration, who chaired the rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela, in the Conference Hall of the Merced campus, attended by the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta and the general director of Universities, Juan Monzó.
The president in his speech praised the dynamism of the Faculty of Arts and described as "artificial" the distinction made between science and humanities.
The event ended with a musical performance by the University Choir of Murcia.
