The Romea Theatre will host the May 25 a charity gala to mark the 35th anniversary of the Murcia Association of Parents and Children with Spina Bifida (Amupheb).
It will be an ideal opportunity to publicly acknowledge the combined efforts of several generations of people who have contributed to improving the living conditions of the collective.
The details of the event was presented this morning at a ceremony at City Hall with the participation of the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, the Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Thomas Violante, and the president of Amupheb, Carmen Gil.
They were also attended by the Councillor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, and representatives of institutions and associates, including Pascual Martinez, manager of the CajaMurcia Foundation, and representatives of Cajamar, Iberdrola, Melon rock of Gold and Lo Ferro Flamenco .
José Ballesta called the work Amupheb as "absolutely essential, for everything he has done during these 35 years, the achievements and the social impact on our society, thanks to the work done by all those who have worked and are working hand this pioneering and exemplary Association ".
The Flemish gala on May 25, starting at 20 hours, allow pay tribute to the founding fathers of the association, as well as socio-medical professionals and entities that have stood out for their solidarity trajectory.
It will be a public recognition to those who direct their efforts to dignify the social image of people with disabilities in general, and particularly spina bifida, and work to facilitate their integration into society.
They cite the people who launched the partnership, their children, many of whom now make up the board, and their grandchildren will.
In addition to recognition, the gala will feature performances by leading artists of the Flamenco Festival of the Ferro.

22 founding members
The Murcia Association of Parents and Children with Spina Bifida was created on May 22, 1980 by agreement of 22 people.
At that first meeting president Jose Antonio Ruiz Ros, treasurer, José Luis Gómez, and Secretary, José Antonio Blanc was appointed, along with two members: Gines Fernandez and Rafael Gonzalez.
Over time, many children of the founding partners took over and are members of the board today presiding Carmen Gil.
