This is the number of people who have used the Tram Line 1 of Murcia since it came into operation on 28 May 2011.
According to estimates, this number of users allowed to stop driving on Murcia 16 million vehicles thanks to which has saved 18,216 tons of emissions of CO2 to the atmosphere
Annually, since 2012, it has been significantly increasing the number of travelers, from 3,574,794 in 2012;
4,136,170 in 2013;
4,384,983 in 2014 and 4,665,262 in 2015.
Of the 59 months of operation of this transport the busiest month was the October 2014 with 546,226 people, while the requested stop is Plaza Circular, followed by Spanish and Regional Library Marina.
In addition, the tram has managed to retain a large number of users as demonstrated by the increased use of transportation bonds.
Since 2013 it has reduced the use of a single ticket for 4.91%.
On the use of bonds, it has found great acceptance with flat-rate bonds among the community of students, who along with Bono Campus in 2015 represented 30.3% of total bonds user distribution .
This shows that young people are massively using the tram, making use of this transport in their daily commute.
Councillor for Public Works, Roque Ortiz, explained that "these data testify that a large part of Murcia has placed its trust in Murcia tram because it is a means of transport that is committed to sustainable mobility, safe, timely, accessible and comfortable".
To celebrate 20 million users, Murcia tram will draw an annual bonus for each category, among those who have used the Line 1 during the week of April 25 to May 1.
Thus a large family bonus general category, general UNIBON of UNIBON Student and Campus UNIBON be raffled.
