The Municipal Socialist Group will take the next Parliament a motion to urge the City of Murcia to seek a legal solution that would allow the remodeling market of San Andres.
"The market of San Andrés is one of the places most unique abastos of the city, a traditional market that combines commercial galleries selling food products and basic necessities. It is next to the bus station in the municipality and next to neighborhood health center and is an enclave to be to value and maintain, "said the socialist councilor, Juan Vicente Larrosa.
The mayor lamented that this food market and shopping arcade will not be offering the same protection and care as the rest.
"The market of San Andrés is in a situation of discrimination compared to other markets of the municipality and, therefore, is deteriorating by leaps and bounds," Larrosa, who added that a remodeling of the building "is necessary and urgent indicated for highlight a key point of coexistence and the economy in the neighborhood of San Andrés ".
The PSOE Councillor recalled that the remodeling project market in 2013, was awarded on two occasions, and today has not been carried out.
"We do not know why the company that finally awarded the project decided to leave before the reform. But what we do know and what we stand for this initiative is that the remodeling market San Andrés is urgent and that the poor condition of the building directly to sales traders affected. If this continues, it could end up disappearing. "
"We demand the City Council to seek a solution to the refusal of the concessionaire to carry out the redevelopment to proceed to re-award the works and that the market of San Andrés can, as soon as possible, look and function like a real commercial center in the neighborhood, "he concluded.
