Dozens of people have visited this morning to see first hand the implementation plan of bike lanes in the city.
The Department of Traffic and Public Safety, through the Office of the bicycle, has installed an information booth in the Plaza de Santo Domingo with a large panel in which aparcene the different sections that will be created.
In addition, all citizens who have approached have been able to sign the panel of new bike routes and have received a bike bell.
This afternoon, also in Santo Domingo, will hold a workshop customization pennants, from 17 to 20:30 and a storyteller with the bike as a protagonist with three sessions of 40 minutes.
The first draft of this ambitious project to implement bike lanes proposes the creation of a cycling network of a total of 20 fully segregated and interconnected kilometers, which will give continuity to the existing bike lanes by building new sections, so that a mesh around the North-South and East-West axes of the city will be organized
Thus, this plan includes the creation of the North-South axis through the creation of five new sections: 1) Mariano Rojas-Plaza de Castilla, 2) Circular-Train Station, 3) Avenue of Fame and Pio Baroja, 4) Avda . Mayday and South Ronda and 5) Miguel Indurain.
The East-West axis includes three new sections: 1) Mariano Rojas-Ronda de Levante, 2) Malecon and urban stretch of the river and 3) South Ronda.
The creation of bike lanes in the urban section of the bank of the River Segura allow continued enable a bike path over 27 kilometers that will link with the Contraparada Beniel.
