The regional chief executive, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, met today at the Palacio de San Esteban with the president of the Pro-Soterramiento Platform of routes, Joaquín Contreras, and members of this platform, which reiterated the support of the Community the draft comprehensive excavation for the arrival of the AVE to the city of Murcia, as it did last April 13 during the meeting held in the Congress of Deputies.
During the meeting various issues relating to the burial of the pathway were analyzed, and the president of the Community moved them to the Ministry of Public Works will study, from a technical and economic perspective, the viability of the new proposal presented by the platform, requesting that the railroad tracks are carried eight meters underground at the station del Carmen.
Subsequently, the proposal must be reviewed by Adif.
Concerning the delimitation of the Mediterranean Corridor passing through the region of Murcia, the Pro-Soterramiento Platform requested the president to the construction of a detour or "bypass" is addressed in order to prevent the passage of those trains transporting goods by the city ​​of Murcia.
In this regard, Pedro Antonio Sanchez said that possibility also has the support of the regional government and is already covered by the Master Plan of the Ministry of Infrastructure.
The regional government has kept members constantly informed platform advances that have occurred in relation to the AVE works through the various meetings that have taken place in this regard throughout this year.
