What is intended is to establish a comprehensive strategic planning in alignment with the overall objectives of the City Council which, according to some studies, will save up to 20% in costs.
At the end of the initial draft implementation you may better understand the real situation of information technology at City Hall, enhance the value they provide by applying better policies, procedures and organizational changes, easily define the objectives of these technologies in the medium term and have a catalog of improvement actions, allowing the transmission of a more modern and innovative image of the City.
The Government Strategy Committee shall have the following objectives:
- Ensure that IT issues are present regularly on the agenda of the government team of the City.
- Provide advice and information to the municipal government team in relation to the following aspects of IT:
Relevance of their projects from the perspective of the main municipal functions.
Aligning them with the overall strategy and objectives of the City Council, analyzing the current and future strategic issues and advising on strategy.
Availability of skills, infrastructure and resources to achieve the objectives in this area of ​​the City.
Optimization of their costs.
Track large municipal IT projects
- Promoting the use of good governance of IT by the municipal government team.
- Establish the basic principles of IT within the City Council, such as transparency, as well as investment policies and prioritization of initiatives, all aligned with the strategy, budgets and objectives of the City.
Ordinary calls will be held on a quarterly basis and overtime when necessary because of the importance of the issues to be discussed.
