Students, teachers, parents of San Felix Zarandona College will hold a charity race next Thursday to mark the World Day of Sport for Development and Peace.
The event, in which 400 students at the school participate in both early childhood education and primary, with the collaboration of the City Council, through the Department of Sports and Health, which runs Felipe Coello.
This I Carrera Solidarity, organized to benefit Afacmur, Association of Families of Children with Cancer in the Region of Murcia, will be developed by the school grounds and surrounding streets, with different stages, groups and tours adapted to the different ages.
You will start at 10 am with the participation of smaller, 3 or 4 years that will travel 100 meters, while higher-students in grades 5 and 6º- will have to complete a distance of 1 kilometer.
At 12 hours approximately will end the day with the medal and then all attendees participate in a collective zumba class.
April 6 is the date chosen by the United Nations to commemorate the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace because that day, but 1896 saw the opening of the first Olympic Games of the modern era, held in Athens.
This initiative is a way to recognize the potential of sport in creating an environment of tolerance and understanding, which will help promote peace and development, and contribute to creating a healthier world, happier and more prosperous for all .
