The University of Murcia (UMU) has allocated in the 2016 budget an item of 200,000 euros to support the work of groups of educational innovation of the institution.
As part of this policy, the UMU has just launched the first call for the creation and recognition of Teaching Innovation Groups (GID), which extends application deadline until next May 4.
This initiative, promoted by the Department for Education and Innovation, directed by Professor Pedro Miralles, recognizes the working groups that develop quality teaching and innovative as stable teaching innovation groups.
These groups, which will be formed by official or hired faculty and staff eligible for a partner, will work for the development and implementation of activities of educational innovation and teaching improvement.
Such proposals should be framed in a broad spectrum of courses of action, which may range from virtual education, bilingualism or designing teaching resources open up the use of Web 2.0 for learning.
Thus, the University of Murcia responds to the need to give visibility to all actions of innovation that are currently taking place within the university teaching field.
Teachers, thus, can carry out their work in stable groups and under a recognition that until now was not formalized.
Subsequently, another call will be published to give economic aid groups for their innovative teaching related activities.
