Young people and children in the neighborhood of the Holy Spirit may continue their artistic training in dance and theater after the Governing Board has approved today the hiring of this program, which aims to encourage participation and artistic training, thus contributing to the stay in the school system.
The initiative also seeks to influence the teaching of dance and musical theater as a means of cultural expression and social interaction and to professional training.
The event, to be held in the classrooms of dance and Urban theater school Salzillo, including training specialties classical dance, contemporary dance and physical expression, flamenco dance, modern dance and urban dance and as the theater: interpretation and implementation scene, characterization and makeup, musical interpretation and some activities such as master classes and preparation of shows for festivals.
The project is a continuation of activities undertaken in the Holy Spirit Urban project in which participants have developed an intense work to incorporate dance in their daily training and have defined their preferences for musical theater.
In addition, each year, students have prepared a festival in which they perform their best dance choreography and plays an annual gala, one of the events that has already established itself as a brand of the neighborhood and the neighbors enjoy every year the month of July.
The project, which was scheduled for completion in 2015, will be continued after the Mayor, José Ballesta, keep a meeting with the neighbors, who expressed interest in practicing these disciplines and highlighted the positive impact it has had on their education and for their lives practicing these activities.
