This network is conceived as a meeting platform for the study and discussion of issues affecting public and private Spanish cultural centers as well as to exchange experiences and solutions to facilitate access and the channeling of international cooperation and to serve as a link between Spain and the rest of the European Union

The creation of the Spanish Network of Cultural Centers has been framed in SNCC project, which has been fueled by the Association of Cultural Managers of the Region of Murcia (GERM), in collaboration with the city of Murcia and the Puertas de Castilla Center, and the European Network of Cultural Centers (European Network of Cultural Centres, ENCC), and funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of the Government of Spain.

Within the SNCC project was developed in Murcia last January the "National Meeting of cultural centers: models of networking and development", in which more than fifty cultural professionals from different Spanish cities and other European countries.

During the event, many of the attendees joined the initiative of the founding of the Spanish Network of Cultural Centers and since then, part of a participatory process, structured in working groups, has led to the activation of this network .

The Spanish Network of Cultural Centers provides to all its members and those interested in joining it, a virtual space that enhances the visibility of our cultural facilities through various tools: a mapping of the Spanish cultural spaces belonging to the network, a specific space to support the dissemination of activities organized by them, etc.

This space can be found in the www.sncc.es direction, where it is also possible to apply newsletter subscription network and displayed on the video conference meeting held in January at the Center Puertas de Castilla ( Murcia).

This meeting was attended by renowned speakers at national and international level, as Rafael Carazo Rubio (Deputy Director General for Promotion of Cultural Industries and Patronage. Directorate General of Cultural Policy and Industries and the Book. Ministry of Culture. Ministry Education, Culture and Sports of Spain), Maria Angeles Garcia Cabello (State Federation of Associations of Cultural Managers, Spain -FEAGC-), Ivo Peeters (President of the European Network of Cultural Centers, Belgium -ENCC-), Piotr Michalowski ( promoter Wandering Cultural Forum "Lower Silesia" and Director of a House of Culture in Olesnica, Poland), Juan Pablo Soler Fuster (Member of the Board of the Spanish Network of Theatres, Auditoriums, Circuits and Festivals publicly owned, Spain ), or Sandy Fitzgerald (Olivearte Cultural Agency, Ireland / Spain), Sylvine Bois Choussy (Coordinator ENCC: European Network of Cultural Centres, Belgium), Raul Abeledo Sanchis (Director of European projects Econcult, University of Valencia), Abraham Hurtado (Director of AADK Spain, Spain) and Javier Brun (Member of the UNESCO Chair in cultural policies and cooperation, University of Girona), among others.

They all gave the keys to analyze the possibilities that networking offers the cultural sector.

SNCC: Spanish Network of Cultural Centers and ENCC: European Network of Cultural Centers actively collaborate to facilitate and promote the participation of members of the Spanish network at European level and in the activities of the ENCC.
