Murcvia City Council, through the Department of Planning, Environment and Huerta, who heads Antonio Navarro Corchón, and ACUDE Association have signed an agreement for land stewardship and sustainable development of forest municipal properties.
Specifically, are 2,000 hectares of municipal land of forest use, to be protected and properly manage in terms of environmental sustainability.
This agreement allows the promotion of land stewardship as a tool for conservation of cultural, natural and landscape values ​​and promotion of traditional uses of the environment compatible with conservation.
In addition, this activity is aimed at promoting an activity of public utility or social interest for sustainable development of municipal forest farms.
The actions ACUDE can perform are:
Watch on incidents in municipal forest farms, giving forward them to the City of Murcia
Inventory of existing environmental goods, such as flora and fauna, and plans to promote biodiversity.
Advice on Action Plans that the city of Murcia provides for public forest farms character.
Collaboration promotion campaigns protected areas, public property, including educational workshops and seminars organized by the City Council.
Making environmental education and dissemination of the values ​​of these characteristics of the area, in coordination with municipal programs.
Facilitate public use of municipal forestry farms according to the natural values ​​of the area.
Make available to the City Council, on a regular basis, information to be determined for the purpose of facilitating the monitoring of activities on farms as well as for a model applicable to other areas of the municipality.
