The Catholic University of Murcia held this morning the ceremony of the awards HackForGood Murcia, an event hosted by the Campus of Los Jeronimos in late February simultaneously along with 14 other interconnected offices (Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Valencia, Alicante, Murcia , Ciudad Real, Sevilla, Malaga, Las Palmas, Cáceres, Salamanca, Valladolid, Leon and Vigo).
The first award was for the students of Degree in Computer Engineering UCAM, Pablo Martinez and Diego Fernandez for the proposal Gloves of Music Experience, a prototype of gloves that allow people to play any musical instrument and emulate their sounds.
What stands out about this initiative is that it can be especially used to encourage the practice of music therapy in people with motor, cognitive or sensory problems.
The project also has received the Big Prize Thikg Telefónica Foundation.
The second prize went to the OVI project, an app designed to facilitate leisure to people with visual and hearing impairments, which has been developed by Leocadio Raigal.
The XDroneTeam project, the team of Pedro Luis Salazar, Carmen Maria Campillo and Joaquín Bastida, has won the third prize.
It is a modular drone consists of gadgets and accessories for customization and configuration for each user.
In addition, the award for best local social challenge presented by vote by the participants in the event, was for José Antonio Fernández.
What does it consist of?
HackForGood is focused on social innovation, where participants must submit and develop technological solutions that help solve social problems and make cities more intelligent event.
This is organized and promoted by Telefónica, the School of Telecommunications at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, the Hazloposible Foundation and the MashmeTV startup, with the support of Telefónica Chairs Network of part of the UCAM.
The event also featured the collaboration of the Technological Institute of Murcia and the alumni association of the university, alumni.
