The four political opposition groups in the city of Murcia -PSOE, Citizen, Now Let's change Murcia- Murcia and have presented Tuesday at a press conference the two joint motions will defend in the municipal plenary next Thursday, both related to the redistricting of public services, currently provided by private companies.
Councilors, Juan Vicente Larrosa (PSOE), Paqui Pérez (Citizens), Maria Angeles Moreno (Now Murcia) and Sergio Ramos (Let's change Murcia), were accompanied by representatives of the SIME, CCOO, UGT and CSIF trade unions at City Hall, who have participated in the preparation of these motions.
In the last twenty years, many of the services that were provided by the City Council and its own personnel have been privatized, generating an overcharge to the session and, in some cases, leading to a deterioration of services.
In order to analyze what services would be likely to again be managed directly by the city of Murcia, opposition groups have urged the government team PP to form a worktable that allows consider remunicipalise, in whole or partially, some services, among which is Statistics or service Registration, Information and Customer service.
In addition, today, with the privatization of municipal services, there is no guarantee the principles of equality, merit and ability, so a redistricting would encourage the promotion of self Council staff and avoid patronage.
The opposition councilors have also pointed out that despite approval by City Council, is not yet available Ratio of Jobs, which is essential to proceed with a restructuring that allows the redistricting requested by the four groups.
