Change Murcia has asked the Department of Traffic and Development working with local groups, Boards and citizens' associations in creating plans, annual performance to meet the fundamental objectives and strategies described in the Plan on Urban Mobility and Sustainable (PMUS), approved in 2013.
This request, which the council Nacho Tornel defend in plenary next Thursday, aims to fulfill one of the agreements reached in the development of the Plan, when it was agreed that the actions in the short, medium and long term "for their stiffness and lack of realism "by annual action plans with budgets.
To Tornel, it is "essential" that citizens can make contributions in the development of these plans, which cover from the analysis of specific to the needs assessment and prioritization of actions situations and, from there, drive a Quality Council Urban Transport, as stated by the agreement reached in October 2015.
However, the mayor has warned that mobility policies described in PMUS prepared in the previous Corporation, "do not always coincide with the political project of the current government team," recalling, for example, with regard to development tram as the backbone of municipal transport, real backbone of the Plan itself.
Faced with this situation, "it seems more urgent to recover the role of these annual action plans that ensure the development of those contents PMUS still recoverable and achievable," concluded Tornel.
