About 1,500 women have gathered along all morning at the various facilities and outdoor spaces of the Sports City of Murcia, in a day of "party competition," according to the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta.
"Today we celebrate the Feast 'Women and Sport', a fun event where the values ​​of effort and self-improvement are claimed by the Murcian athletes who get to wear the name of Murcia to the top of the podium, so this day we put in Women's Sports Shift "said José Ballesta.
The various municipal halls of the Sports City of Murcia (Sports Joseph Barnes, Prince Pavilion Asturias, Pool Mar Menor, Pavilion New Cagigal and Pavilion IES Infante) and its external environment, have hosted championships, workshops and exhibitions in more than 25 disciplines different as rhythmic gymnastics, judo, wrestling, bowling, athletics, basketball, hockey, lifeguard, canoeing, triathlon, swimming, soccer, football, tennis, handball, skating, football, volleyball, baseball and softball, aesthetic gymnastics, mountaineering, taekwoundo, karate.
Fitness marathon success in the Park Fofó
The open-air auditorium Fofó Park hosted throughout the morning fitness marathon, which hundreds of women of all ages, who practiced zumba, TRX, cardio box, spinning and aerobics joined.
Attendees of this initiative promoted by the Union of Sports Federations, the City of Murcia and also had the opportunity to participate in self-defense workshop held at the Prince of Asturias.
Moreover, the Councillor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, gave the starting signal to City Half Marathon Murcia.
"This is the XXXVII edition of the Half Marathon, which has enjoyed the participation of almost 3,000 runners, which demonstrates the success of this sporting event that has become a benchmark of the Murcian sport," said Coello.
