The University of Murcia (UMU) has won the first edition of the Award of Excellence for Energy Region, for his performances of raising awareness in the field of renewable energy and energy saving and efficiency.

The award, granted by the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment Development, recognizes the activities carried out by the environmental management system "Sustainable Campus" the Vice President for Economy, Sustainability and Health Sciences, directed by Professor José María Abellán .

Estrella de Levante and the municipalities of Archena and Fuente Alamo are other winning organizations.
