More than 700 members of the senior center in El Palmar have gathered at the annual luncheon organized during the Cultural Week XXII.
The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, who wanted to accompany them on this journey of living, has given the center's president, José Martínez Maldonado, a metopa with the arms of City Hall to commemorate this event.
House has been accompanied by the Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare, Gender Equality Policies and Citizenship, Maria del Carmen Pelegrin, responsible for Housing, Transport and Trade, Antonio Castillo, president of the Municipal Council of El Palmar, Diego López, and President of the Federation of Senior Citizens Centres de Murcia, Simon Párraga.
The event began with a sense memory of the council Remigio Lopez, recently deceased, for the support they always gave the higher center of El Palmar, where he lived.
The association currently has around 1,000 members and this year has reached 25 years of operation.
Besides celebrating the cultural week in June, the largest of this hamlet also enjoy gerontogimnasia courses, tai chi and ballroom dancing.
In addition, last year attended a lecture on fall prevention, osteoporosis, physical therapy and the benefits of physical activity in older people.
