The Department of Sports City of Murcia, headed by Miguel Cascales, invests about 1.3 billion euros to provide quality sports facilities to the citizens.

This investment will be made for the maintenance, collection, access control and cleaning of sports facilities in neighborhoods and districts.

The Governing Board approved the contract specifications for servicing, collection, access control and cleanliness, for a period of two years, the Prince of Asturias flag, amounting to 778,510 euros Sucina municipal flag , with an investment of 167,223 euros Lobosillo municipal flag, with 167,223 euros, and municipal flag of Los Martínez del Puerto, with an investment of 167,223 euros.

The City has 50 pitches, 31 of artificial turf and natural grass 5, 33 sports halls and 18 municipal swimming pools.

Supporting clubs

Also, the Sports Council continues to support sports clubs and entities of the municipality with the aim of promoting sport among the citizens.

The Governing Board has given approval for a subsidy to the Basketball Club Murcia, SAD, for the 2010/2011 season.

It has also authorized the use of the pool of Espinardo to Fuensanta Swimming and Swimming clubs Murcia, during the 2010/2011 season.
