A summer in which they coexist with nature, which will be shared nights observing the sky, and where lectures are banned because, above all, "it is forbidden to be boring."
He described the biology teacher, Alfonso García Ayala, the Second Science Camp at the University of Murcia, organized by the Universidad Internacional del Mar, on this occasion, coinciding with the International Year of Biodiversity, bears the slogan "We biodiversity ".
Food sensory evaluation, know the plants in our environment, to analyze the functioning of the eye, see the details of an aquatic ecosystem or meet renewable energy, are some of the activities that will develop students enrolled in this initiative.
The course, aimed at students in their final year of compulsory and eleventh grade, will be held on the 28th June to 2 July, and aims to arouse the interest of young people in science and answer questions as who we are ?, what is my environment, or do how I can look?, allowing us to protect biodiversity on our planet.
It is, in the words of the director, that "are aware of the importance of protecting the environment."
"We want to" ensure "that students find that doing science is fun, and they know us heaven, earth, plants, water and, above all, themselves, know their environment to foster care value of the biodiversity. "
For this we have raised a course with plenty of activities in which "the master classes are prohibited and where they can find the lighter side of science."
Visits, games, beach, pool ... everything is valid to encourage the children to know more deeply an environment in which attention to biodiversity is the common denominator.
Visits also trying to blend the playful and informative to show the university in a fun environment: renewable energy, purifying, the Aquarium of the University of Murcia, the anatomical museum or laboratory veterinarian José Loustau will be among the destinations of these students.
According to Alfonso Garcia says, "each of the activities will teach students a particular aspect of the topic being discussed, to understand that biodiversity is all around us."
Among the lectures is included entomological biodiversity in criminology, in which students can discuss what remains of insect activity to see how long a corpse has been dead, "something they love the kids, because it seems like an investigation of the CSI. "
The course, which will be held in various parts of the University of Murcia and CEMACAM Torre Guil, has covered its 36 seats from the first week.
The head of the course ensures that you will be satisfied if they can make students understand "that we can all do things for the environment, do our bit to help conserve the environment and biodiversity."
