| The aid launched by the Economic Promotion Service will facilitate access to employment and self-employment for groups most vulnerable | The Economic Promotion Service, headed by the mayor Pedro Garc�a Rex, has given the green light to the granting of a direct subsidy to the Red Cross, for an amount of 28,000 euros, to give viability to the execution and development of the Impuls @ project, the objective of which is to improve the employability of people at risk of social and labor exclusion to facilitate their access to employment and self-employment and the creation of companies by promoting the spirit entrepreneur in the municipality of Murcia. The work carried out by the Red Cross in social intervention projects with people with the greatest difficulties has been significantly increased due to the pandemic, which has had a strong impact on the most vulnerable population groups.
. For this reason, the Murcia City Council is promoting initiatives of this type to support the employment and self-employment of the people who are experiencing the worst.
"It is essential to continue strengthening collaboration with business organizations, social economy, third sector, social entities, universities and other organizations for the development of common strategies that allow us to promote and support entrepreneurship, reactivate the economic fabric ¿½mico and improve the employability of people ", said the head of the Economic Promotion service, Pedro Garc�a Rex. During 2020, the Red Cross met the employment needs of 4,440 people in the Murcia Region.
By 2021, unemployment rates are expected to rise as a result of the pandemic. In this sense, Councilor Garc�a Rex has once again stressed the need to continue collaborating and working together with the Red Cross.
"It is essential to support the people who need it most in the current socio-economic context," he concluded.
